The Chelsea Farmers Market kicked off its first season. The market was organized by Don Driggers of Bee Creek Farm and had around seven vendors at its first market on May 18.
Vendors set up shop in the field in front of Chelsea City Hall, where they will be located every Thursday from 3-6 p.m. Driggers said he expects more vendors next week, and even has three new vendors confirmed.
"I've been trying to get one [a market] over here for the longest time," Driggers said.
Sue Hasha of Magic City Salsa said she plans to attend the market every other Thursday.
"It's been a very supportive crowd," she said.
The market accepts farmers and crafts people, Driggers said, and those interested in participating in the market can contact him at 482-6943.
