"Casting Tall Shadows" Gallery Exhibit curated by Nelson Grice

The SCAC gallery presents "Casting Tall Shadows" curated by sculpture Nelson Grice. Grice, a graduate of the University of Montevallo and current ceramic teacher of Hoover High School, has earned recognition for his work by being featured in Ceramic Monthly magazine as well as galleries and private collections across the country. His piece "Storytime" took home the prize for Best in Show at the 2016 SCAC Adult Juried Art Show. Each of his sculptures "explores his uninhibited childlike imagination". For this gallery exhibit Grice has handselected a group of uniuqe sculptors to display work. These metal and clay artists explore their medium in this well curated body of work. Featuring the work of artists Ted Metz, Hank Simpson, Kristen Berry, Savannah Smith, Ajene Williams, and Nelson Grice "Casting Tall Shadows" opens Thursday, September 14.
