Oak Mountain Presbyterian Church 5080 Cahaba Valley Trace, Birmingham, Alabama
InSpero, a Birmingham based nonprofit arts and education organization, presents “Why We Weep” art exhibit featuring the work of thirty artists from the Birmingham area. Each artist was asked to create art in response to the Victor Hugo quote, “Those who do not weep do not see”. The exhibit’s featured artist, acclaimed fine-art photographer Vicki Wilson Hunt, captures the power of the human condition in the midst of hardship. Her exhibit will also include photographs taken by her late father as a Birmingham police officer during the civil rights era of the 1960s.
An opening reception for “Why We Weep”, will be held Wednesday, March 21 from 6:30 p.m. - 8 p.m. at Oak Mountain Presbyterian Church (5080 Cahaba Valley Trace, Birmingham). The gallery will remain open to visitors weekdays during business hours until June 1st.
InSpero was founded by local artist Gina Hurry to showcase and support area artists, believing that their gifts are essential for the well-being of the Birmingham community. For more information on InSpero visit www.inspero.org.
