Chelsea's Michaella Edwards is averaging a double-double this season.
The Chelsea High School basketball teams took care of business on Tuesday night, sweeping Leeds in varsity girls and boys play.
The Lady Hornets improved to 7-4 on the season with a 69-27 victory. Michaella Edwards continued her strong play with 35 points and 11 rebounds, and is averaging a double-double for the season.
Pressley Rains chipped in 13 points, while Hope Richard added eight rebounds and Allie Miller dished out seven assists.
The boys team used a strong second quarter to establish control of the game in a 76-42 win. The Hornets led by three points following the opening frame, but outscored the Greenwave 17-5 in the second quarter to take a 15-point halftime edge.
Matthew Marquet led Chelsea with 14 points on the night, as 11 different players scored for the Hornets. Also joining Marquet in double digits were Joseph Lanzi, Tyler Coleman and Bailey Hix, who each chipped in 10.
The Hornets improved to 8-4 on the season.
Chelsea visits Thompson on Thursday night.
