U.S. 280 ALDI to open in December

The 280 corridor is getting a new grocery store.

A new ALDI location is set to open behind Full Moon BBQ, in the building which formerly housed HHGregg. Birmingham-based Bradford Building Co. is working on the building, according to a Facebook post from Oct. 5. The store, located at 4639 U.S. 280, Suite 101, is set to hold its grand opening on Dec. 20, according to the ALDI store locator page.

"We are excited to help bring ALDI to Hwy 280! Currently we're demolishing the interior and front facade of the old HHGregg location," the post read.

ALDI has multiple Birmingham-area locations, including stores in Homewood, Pelham and near downtown Birmingham. 

Bradford Building Co. directed further questions about the location to ALDI, and 280 Living will update this post as more information becomes available.
