Patrons can shop tax-free and support a good cause at Gus Mayer this Thursday.

The Spring into Style event will include tax-free shopping all day in addition to cocktails and hors d’ouvres from 4-7 p.m. Shoppers will also be able to register for gift cards and beauty trends.

The event will also highlight five women selected by Gus Mayer as City Shapers in Birmingham.

The women were selected based on their accomplishments, community influence and charitable efforts throughout the city. The women will be recognized during the event and are also in competition to obtain the most sales. Whoever has the most sales through friends, family and guests’ purchases will receive a $1,000 donation to the charity of their choice.

The City Shapers include Mountain Brook residents Handley McCrory, Catherine Long and Sandy Naramore; Greystone resident Chay Watkins; and Forest Park Resident Lynlee Hughes.

McCrory and Naramore selected Mitchell’s Place as their charity, Long selected Birmingham Children’s Theatre, Watkins selected Junior League of Birmingham and Hughes selected the Railroad Park Foundation.

Gus Mayer is located at 225 Summit Blvd.
