St. Vincent's One Nineteen invited the community to come in and celebrate during its Holiday Open House.

At the open house, community members were able to tour One Nineteen's facilities, sample healthy recipes and learn about its services. The first 50 guests also received a free gift bag.

More than 50 people were lined up outside of St. Vincent's Spa One Nineteen, and within the first hour more than 250 guests had visited. Jacqueline Gardner, director of health and wellness services for St. Vincent's One Nineteen, said around 500 guests attended last year's holiday open house, and she expected to see just as many this year.

Gardner said the open house allowed people to see all St. Vincent's One Nineteen and the spa have to offer. With the purchase of a $150 gift card, shoppers would receive a $25 gift card. Gardner said she hopes people will use that gift card to come and experience Spa One Nineteen.

"We hope they'll come and use this as their first time," she said.

The open house also allowed guests to sample some meals created by One Nineteen's dietician, Gardner said. Some of these recipes, such as rosemary almonds and turkey sliders, could be used for holiday parties. To get the recipes, community members can visit One Nineteen or call 408-6550.

"We hope they see that healthy can be fun, and healthy can be tasty," Gardner said.

Overall, Gardner said she thinks the open house allows community members to visit and see how One Nineteen combines many aspects of health, whether that's skincare, diet or exercise.

"I hope that they come in and find out that we have even more to offer than just the spa," she said.
