Summit to host annual Christmas parade and tree lighting

by

Lights Up at the Summit will bring Christmas cheer in mid-November this year.

The event will be held on Nov. 17 from 5 to 8 p.m., according to Summit Marketing Manager Mindy Rohr.

The highlight of the evening is the parade and lighting of the Summit's outdoor Christmas tree, which will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. The parade includes local community groups such as Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops, dance school students, high school bands and cartoon characters, who will throw candy and perform along the parade route from Barnes & Noble. After the tree lighting, the Summit will put on a fireworks show.

At 5 and 7 p.m., the Elliott Davis Band will perform near Swoozie's. There will also be a Santa photo booth near Kendra Scott and other performers around the parade route. A snow machine will provide some faux snowflakes after 7 p.m.
