Women in Business: Wendy Hartley Gregerson - Attorney at Law

With more than 33 years of experience in the legal profession, Chelsea native Wendy Hartley Gregerson has been in solo practice as an attorney since 2009. 

She serves the Greater Birmingham area and surrounding counties with a license to practice in both state and federal courts.

While Wendy specializes in family law (divorce, child custody, juvenile cases) and criminal law, she also has experience in bankruptcy, wills, trusts and automobile accidents. She spent 25 years as a paralegal handling personal injury cases before attending law school. 

She relates to her clients through her own personal experience of going through a divorce and being a single mother. She worked her way through college at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she earned her B.S. in criminal justice in 2004. She graduated from Birmingham School of Law in 2007.

“I love it,” Wendy said. “I have a big heart, and I enjoy helping people, and it’s in difficult times like this that they need someone to stand by them … especially the children. They are the ones who suffer the most in divorce cases.”

She also serves as a guardian ad litem representing children in court proceedings. 

Wendy is a member of the Shelby County Bar Association and the Birmingham Bar Association. She was named in the “Top Women Attorneys” for 2015 and 2016. She is the recipient of the Client Choice Award for AVVO in 2015 and was selected in B-Metro Magazine’s Top Lawyers in 2017.
