Women in Business: Chris Collins - Homewood Antiques and Marketplace

by

Anyone who pictures antique collecting to involve rummaging through cluttered, dusty spaces will be pleasantly surprised at Homewood Antiques & Marketplace. Ten thousand square feet of space is filled with artistically arranged displays that easily rival any boutique.

Proprietor and Chelsea native Chris Collins said: “We are not your average antique mall. Our spaces are highly stylized by our very talented team of vendors and taste-makers.”

Antiques available range from high-end, fine antique furniture to collectibles. But antiques are only the beginning of what’s available. In addition to new and vintage wearables, customers can also browse through locally made art, jewelry, housewares and more.

Should you find a piece of furniture or print that needs just a bit of updating to make it feel like your own, an upholstery shop and fine art frame shop are conveniently available on-site. A full-service flower shop is also available in the marketplace.

“For guests that select a vase or any unique container while browsing, the flower shop is a great way to add that perfect finishing touch. The arrangements can make pieces truly come alive while you enjoy them at home or share them as a gift.”

Collins’ affinity for Homewood is evidenced by her support of the community. “We love our neighborhood and always support Homewood schools and businesses,” she said. “We also use local resources for our business needs like advertising and marketing.”

As grateful as she is to be part of the Homewood community, Collins largely credits the vendors for continued success of Homewood Antiques & Marketplace. “The people we work with are incredible. From vendors to local artists and designers — it’s a privilege to support and interact with each of them.”
