Christmas closing schedule for public buildings, services in U.S. 280 corridor

Public buildings that serve people who live in and around the U.S. 280 corridor will be closing for the Christmas holiday, but some facilities have different closing schedules than others.

Here’s a rundown on when various buildings will be closed:

CHELSEA:

Chelsea City Hall — Closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day (Thursday and Friday)

Chelsea Community Center — Closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day (Thursday and Friday)

Chelsea Public Library — Closed Christmas Eve (Thursday), Christmas Day (Friday) and Saturday

Chelsea garbage service — Friday (Christmas Day) pickup will be on Saturday

HOOVER:

Hoover Municipal Center, Hoover Public Safety Center and other city offices — Closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day (Thursday and Friday)

Hoover Recreation Center — Open 8 a.m.-noon on Christmas Eve (Thursday); closed Christmas Day (Friday)

Hoover Public Library — Closes early at 6 p.m. Wednesday; closed Christmas Eve (Thursday), Christmas Day (Friday) and Saturday

Hoover garbage service — Friday (Christmas Day) pickup will be on Saturday

OTHER:

North Shelby Library — Closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day (Thursday and Friday)

Mt Laurel Library — Closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day (Thursday and Friday)

Shelby County Courthouse and other Shelby County offices — Closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day (Thursday and Friday); Shelby County property tax commissioner’s office also closed Wednesday

Shelby County garbage service — Friday (Christmas Day) pickup will be on Saturday

Alabama Department of Revenue Jefferson-Shelby Taxpayer Service Center on Valleydale Road — Closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day (Thursday and Friday)

Jefferson County Courthouse and Hoover Satellite Office — Closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day (Thursday and Friday)
