Inverness Steak 'n Shake now open

Steak ‘n Shake in Inverness Corners is now open for business. The new restaurant has been serving up steakburgers to the public at the intersection of Valleydale Road and U.S. 280 since June 1.

The chain is known for its steakburgers and hand-dipped milkshakes. It offers breakfast, lunch, dinner, late night bites and a kid’s menu.

Customers can choose from Steak ‘n Shake favorites such as the 7X7 Steakburger stacked high with seven Steakburgers and seven melted slices of American cheese. The menu also boasts creations like the Steakburger Slinger Skillet made with hash browns, Steak ‘n Shake Genuine Chili, two Steakburgers, shredded cheese and two eggs. To wash it all down, or to satisfy that sweet tooth, customers have their pick of various milkshakes in flavors such as mocha, orange freeze and banana.

Although most locations are open 24 hours, Van Crawford, chief operations officer for Steak ‘n Shake’s Central Alabama operation, said the Hoover location will not be open for 24 hours until after the third month, according to company policy.

The 180 Inverness Plaza location is the third in Central Alabama; one opened in Alabaster in August 2012 and another opened in January on Montgomery Highway. The chain also has locations in Huntsville, Montgomery and Prattville.
