AWC to host summer camp

by

For children who are curious about nature or like spending time outdoors, The Alabama Wildlife Center will be holding their AWC Summer Day Camp July 27-31.

A different theme will be featured each day and activities range from birds and plants and insects, to mammals and forest ecology. Campers will also be able to get up-close and personal with AWC’s education raptors, helping to feed and care for hawks, owls, vultures, and other avian species.

For the safety of the campers, face-coverings will be required and social-distancing will be practiced to provide the safest environment possible.

The camp is for 1st through 6th graders and runs from 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. daily. AWC is located inside Oak Mountain State Park at 100 Terrace Drive, Pelham.

Cost for the camp is $225 for AWC members and $240 for non-members. Campers must bring a sack lunch and snacks will be provided.
