Body found near Chelsea Park Drive identified

The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office has released the name of an individual whose body was found near Chelsea Park Drive earlier this week, according to a press release.

Family members identified the person as 24-year-old Solomon O’Connor Flowers of Irondale. His body was found Tuesday afternoon, and sheriff’s deputies responded around 2 p.m. When deputies arrived, they found Flowers' body near an outdoor advertising sign.

The cause of death is pending the results of an autopsy, according to the Sheriff’s Office, which will be performed by the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences.
