Cameron McGlothan of Highland Lakes missing

On Thursday March 7, Shelby County Sheriff’'s Office deputies were notified that Cameron Gardner McGlothan, 19, had been missing since Tuesday March 5.

On March 12, the Sheriff’s Office investigators received notification from Talladega County Sheriff’s Office that they had discovered a deceased male along the side of a county road.  Sheriff’s Office investigators are working with Talladega County authorities to determine if the male they located is possibly Cameron McGlothan.

McGlothan was last seen by his mother at approximately 10 p.m. in the family home in the Highland Lakes neighborhood. McGlothan left the home sometime during the night and has not been seen or heard from since then.

He is described as a black male, 5-foot, 6 inches tall, weighing approximately 140 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. When last seen, McGlothan was wearing a blue plaid shirt and blue jeans.

Sheriff’s investigators believe McGlothan left his home by choice and was likely picked up by a friend. McGlothan does not have a history of leaving without telling someone, and it is highly unusual for him to be gone this long.  Sheriff’s investigators have been actively looking for McGlothan but have not been able to find him. They need your help.

He has been reported nationally as Missing-Endangered through the Alabama Criminal Justice Information Center and National Crime Information Center.
