Church Safety Conference tonight at North Shelby Baptist

The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office is teaming up with area associations to host a church safety conference on April 24.

The event is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at North Shelby Baptist Church, and is being held in partnership with the church, the Shelby Baptist Association and the Shelby County Law Enforcement Chaplain’s Association.

The focus of this event will be security issues within local churches as well as other topics covered by expert speakers. Church representatives are encouraged to attend, but the public is also welcome. No reservations are required.

Shelby County Sheriff Chris Curry hopes this second conference is attended as well as the first, which was held in Pelham in 2013. Three new topics will be covered including internet security, disaster preparedness and the threat pedophiles pose to youth groups.

A flyer for the event can be found here.
