After more than a decade as Chelsea's city clerk, Becky Landers resigned from the position on Monday, April 9.

"I would like to officially and formally at this meeting thank Mrs. Landers for many years of service," Mayor Tony Picklesimer said at a specially called Chelsea City Council meeting on April 9. "When she first came to work for here 12 years ago, our city was just a baby, and she has been a big part of our growth."

At the meeting, the city council voted to approve a resolution accepting Landers' resignation and appointing Gerri Roberts as interim city clerk for Chelsea. Roberts currently serves as the city's GIS Coordinator, and she will serve as city clerk until a full-time clerk is appointed, according to the resolution.

Also at the meeting, the council approved a replacement resolution authorizing the mayor to secure a $1,000,000 loan to purchase a new ladder truck for Chelsea Fire and Rescue. While the council passed a similar resolution at its April 3 meeting, Picklesimer said the resolution passed on April 9 would replace that one. The April 3 resolution was incomplete, he said, and had a typographical error.
