On Feb. 6, COMPACT 2020 was one of 160 community coalitions honored by the Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America’s National Leadership Forum.

During the CADCA graduation ceremony, coalitions received a certificate for completing the National Coalition Academy, a rigorous training program designed to increase the effectiveness of community drug prevention leaders.

“We are so proud of our program for investing the time and resources to take advantage of the best community coalition training in the world. To graduate from this year-long intensive course is no small feat and COMPACT 2020 is more prepared today to be an effective leader in community change.  This will enable our local communities to develop sustainable prevention teams within Shelby County because of this training,” said Ashley Crumpton, COMPACT 2020 deputy director.  “We look forward to applying our knowledge and strategies to ensure the youth in our community live drug free.”

CADCA’s National Coalition Academy is a year-long training program that incorporates three week-long classroom sessions, a web-based distance learning component, an online workstation and ongoing coalition development technical assistance.
