Death investigation underway after body found near Chelsea Park Drive

Shelby County Sheriff’s Office deputies are investigating a death after a body was found near Chelsea Park Drive.

Deputies responded to U.S. 280 near Chelsea Park Drive following a report of an unresponsive person Tuesday, Aug. 9 around 2 p.m. When deputies arrived, they found a deceased individual near an outdoor advertising sign.

The coroner’s office is on the scene, according to a Sheriff’s Office press release, and assisting investigators.

The individual’s name has not been released at this time, pending notification of family.
