Gov. Robert Bentley is scheduled to speak at the Mid-Alabama Republican Club in Vestavia Hills on Saturday.

The meeting is to be held at the Vestavia Hills Library in the Forest at 1221 Montgomery Highway, starting with breakfast and fellowship at 8:30 a.m. and the meeting following at 9 a.m.

The meetng is open to the public, and there is no cost to attend. However, there will be a voluntary collection during the meeting to help offset program costs.

“We’re excited the governor is paying us a visit,” said Ken McFeeters, president of the Mid-Alabama Republican Club. “With all the recent activity in Montgomery concerning the state budget, it will be interesting to hear his perspective about our fiscal future.”

The Mid-Alabama Republican Club is one of the oldest Republican organizations in Alabama and normally meets the second Tuesday of every month. This Saturday marks the group’s November meeting.

As with other meetings, reports from the Jefferson County Commission and Jefferson County legislative delegation are to be presented.
