The Alabama Cardiovascular Group (ACG) and Grandview Medical Center will align beginning on Monday, Oct. 19.

This alignment is a collaboration between ACG and Grandview Medical Group, the affiliated physician practice group of Grandview Health. Grandview Medical Center President and CEO Keith Granger said the partnership is a step toward continuing excellence in cardiology services.

“Our history of service is built on the expertise and commitment of our medical staff, the numerous specialties, the depth of the programs we offer, our commitment to maintaining advanced technologies and the consistent dedication of our team of healthcare and support professionals,” Granger said. “We share a common goal with the physicians and staff of ACG and that is to provide excellent patient care and to continue our pursuit of being the best provider of cardiology services in the region.”

ACG includes 14 cardiologists with primary locations at St. Vincent’s Birmingham and St. Vincent’s East as well as six satellite offices. It will provide general cardiology, structural and interventional cardiology, advanced arrhythmia management and electrophysiology services.

In late October, ACG will occupy a 15,000 square-foot office in the Grandview Physicians Plaza.

“Alabama Cardiovascular Group has grown and expanded services over the past few decades, and our alignment with Grandview will allow us to continue the commitment and service that our patients deserve and expect," said Dr. Joaquin Arciniegas, senior partner with ACG.

The partnership with Grandview allows ACG to expand its services on a local, state and regional level, Arciniegas said. It also provides access to the latest technology in cardiovascular care.

“Whether it is cardiac rhythm, structural heart or interventional work – Alabama Cardiovascular Group does it all,” said Drew Mason, Chief Operating Officer for Grandview Medical Center. “They are recognized throughout the state for their expertise in cardiac care. Combine their level of physician expertise with one of the most technologically advanced cardiac facilities in the country and you have a strong clinical service line.”
