Grandview Medical Center’s cancer treatment and services will soon be consolidated into a single site.

The Alabama Court of Civil Appeals unanimously approved Grandview Medical Center’s certificate of need for relocation and consolidation of its existing oncology services. The freestanding Cancer Center will be on Grandview’s campus on U.S. 280.

The Certificate of Need Review Board previously granted Grandview the certificate of need in May 2015. The ruling was then opposed by Brookwood Medical Center and appealed to the Alabama Civil Court of Appeals. The case has been pending since June 2015.

“We are delighted to take this important step forward with the consolidation of our cancer services at Grandview and we appreciate the Court’s ruling on this matter,” Grandview President and CEO Keith Granger said in a press release. “This project will allow consolidation of radiation therapy and other oncology related services into a single site, comprehensive center on Grandview’s 280 campus. We look forward to proceeding through the design and construction phase.”
