The Shelby County Planning Commission is set to review several rezoning and resubdivision requests at its Aug. 3 meeting.

Caroline Little, president of Thompson Realty Inc., submitted a request for the resubdivision of four lots into 10 lots in Shoal Creek. The lots will be used for cottage-style housing, ranging from one-quarter acre to one acre in size.

Little’s request for an amendment to the Shoal Creek master plan, which reconfigured roads and lots in the area, was unanimously approved at the Commission’s July 20 meeting.

The Commission will also consider a request from John Freeman with EBSCO Development Co. to reconfigure lot lines and create two additional lots in Mt Laurel.

An amendment to the Mt Laurel master plan, approving the redesignation of lots, was also approved at the Commission’s July 20 meeting.

Joe Ciccarello of Abbey-Greystone LLC has requested the rezoning of a property on Cahaba Valley Road. The property is currently zoned as holding zone district and general business district, and Ciccarello requested the area be rezoned to multi-family residential special district. The rezoning will permit a multi-family residential development in the area.

The site plan for a neighborhood grocery and convenience store across the street from Mt Laurel Town Center is also on the Commission’s agenda, submitted by Bill Thornton of Dunnavant Commercial LLC.
