There is a warrant out for Hero, the City of Chelsea's firehouse dog, and he is going to be put in jail this weekend.

Hero will be "arrested" Saturday morning at the Walmart in Chelsea, located at 16077 U.S. 280. Members of the Chelsea Fire Department are asking for help bailing him out.

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., citizens can give money toward Hero's “bail,” with donations benefiting Children’s of Alabama.

During Hero’s jail time, Chelsea fire department staff will also be giving tours of the fire engine and handing out stickers and fire hats to children.

Hero is a Dalmatian and has been part of the fire department's education program since November 2008.
