Lane closures on U.S. 280 in Chelsea planned for July 27, 28

Motorists who typically travel U.S. 280 in Chelsea during the workday should make note of roadwork that will take place on Thursday, July 27 and Friday, July 28.

Weather permitting, segments of U.S. 280 between Chelsea Park and County Road 47 will be reduced to one lane to allow for turn lane construction. This will take place at various times between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., according to a release from ALDOT, and all travel lanes will be reopened by 3:30 p.m.

Delays can be expected, and motorists are asked to consider using alternate routes, to adjust their arrival and departure times, observe work zone speed limits and use caution in the area. 

"ALDOT thanks motorists for their patience during this Maintenance Operation to improve Alabama's roadways," the release said.
