The 2020 class of Leadership Shelby County was introduced at an alumni breakfast on August 13 at Jefferson State Community College.

The new members of the incoming class include:

The organization, who had its first class in 1995, aims to serve the people of Shelby County and improve the quality of life in the area. Once a month from October to May, leaders will attend full-day sessions focused on a topic of high-priority to raise awareness for the issue and problem-solve as a team. A graduation ceremony in May also serves as a presentation of projects the class has worked on throughout the year.

At the breakfast, speakers included Amy Bradley, class of 2014 and president of the Alumni Association; Lindsey Allison, Board of Directors Class of 1997; Joey Ritchey, President and class of 2008; and guest speaker Bill Bostick, class of 2008 and Presiding Circuit Judge, Shelby County.

During his speech, Judge Bostick said that LSC is about relationships and equipping you to make new connections. With these spheres of influence colliding, leaders are empowered to make a difference in people’s lives.

“Great leaders are predisposed when a situation happens to do something rather than nothing,” Judge Bostick said.

He also said that the class of 2020 is called to action, and these leaders answer that call. “We support you and wish you best of luck as you spend yourselves in a worthy cause.”
