One dead following vehicle wreck on Acton Road

Authorities report a three-vehicle wreck on Acton Road Tuesday resulted in the death of one of the drivers.

The wreck occurred around 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 17, in the 4700 block of Acton Road. Falkville resident Jackson Lindley, 58, lost control of his vehicle and struck a Jeep in the rear before accelerating off the roadway and striking an unoccupied Chevrolet Tahoe in a parking lot, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office.

Lindley was found unconscious in the vehicle and was taken to Grandview Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. A preliminary investigation shows Lindley suffered an unknown medical episode that caused him to lose control of his truck, according to the sheriff's office.

The Jefferson County Coroner's Office will determine the cause of death.
