The PGA Tour Superstore is holding a job fair at the Marriott Courtyard, 4300 Colonnade Parkway today and tomorrow, Wednesday April 1 and Thursday, April 2.

The store, opening in June at 165 Inverness Plaza near Planet Fitness, is seeking to fill 30-40 positions, store manager Mike Connell said. PGA Tour Superstore is the nation's only official golf retail store operated by the PGA Tour, he said.

This will be the first PGA Tour Superstore in Alabama, and the 23rd nationally, Connell said. The company was attracted by Alabama's love of golf, as evidenced by the success of the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail. He said the U.S. 280 corridor, close to several popular golf courses including at Greystone, is a great fit for the store.

"This is a great opportunity for us. The golf community is ready for this," said Connell, who was relocated to Birmingham after spending the past six months opening a PGA Tour Superstore in Orlando.

The job fair is at the hotel from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. April 1-2.  PGA Tour Superstore is seeking to fill full-time, part-time and seasonable positions in the following areas: Apparel and footwear sales, golf equipment sales, teaching professionals, club repair technicians; experienced club fitters; receiving/freight team, cashiers, tournament and event specialists, and various leadership positions.

The store's official opening is June 6. A "Friends and Family" only event at the store is slated for June 4, Connell said. PGA Superstore is in a 25,000-square-foot building that previously housed a Food World grocery store.
