The Shelby County Planning Commission approved two requests at its April 18 meeting.

One request was from Steve Colafrancesco regarding a property on Pineywood Road. Colafrancesco asked for a cross resurvey to resubdivide 6.17 acres into two residential lots.

The resurvey moved one lot line to increase the size of a lot on Edgewood Circle and decrease the lot off of Pineywood Road. Colafrancesco said they submitted the request because their neighbor was looking for more land, and they were not using about two acres of their property.

“They’ll make better use of it than we are now,” he said.

The planning commission unanimously approved the request.

The second request was from James Davies, who asked for approval of conditional use to construct a single-family residence off of Salser Lane, which is located in an HZ Holding Zone district near Highland Lakes. That district requires a minimum lot size of 10 acres for a single-family construction.

Davies owns the property around the lot in question, and the planning commission unanimously approved the conditional use request. Along with that approval, the commission set the setbacks for the home at 5 feet on each side and 40 feet in front and back of the home.
