The Shelby County Planning Commission unanimously approved the resubdivision of a lot in the Highland Lakes Subdivision. The request came from Wayland Elliot with Eddleman Homes on behalf of Mary Ann Martin, the property owner.

The sixth sector, where the lot is located, was first recorded in 1998. During that same year, Martin requested the lot would be combined into one parcel in order to "add some additional acreage to the rear and create a longer backyard," said Principal Planner Kristine Goddard.

The requested subdivision divided the lot into two lots around 53,000 square feet in size, which meet the original acreage.

Elliot was present to represent the case, but there were no statements in favor or against the request, and the planning commission had not questions regarding the request. It was passed unanimously.

Also at the meeting, the planning commission elected Jim Davis to serve as vice chair from March 2017 through the final meeting in February 2018.
