UPDATE: Chelsea Road reopened after reported gas leak

UPDATE: All lanes of Chelsea Road have been reopened following a reported gas leak. Alabama Gas Company crew members are still in the area, and drivers are advised to use caution.

All lanes of traffic on Chelsea Road between Chelsea and Columbiana have been shut down and rerouted due to a reported natural gas leak. The leak is between County Road 39 and Chesser Crane Road.

Alabama Gas Company technicians are on the way to fix the problem, and motorists are advised to avoid the area until it has been made safe.
