Resident Gary Isbell running for Chelsea City Council Place 3

by

Lifelong Chelsea resident Gary Isbell is running for Chelsea City Council Place 3 this August.

Isbell said he was encouraged to run for city council by friends and because he is retired and would have time to serve on the council, he decided to run.

“I am a life-long resident of Chelsea, a man of great faith, with a heart to serve the community,” Isbell said. “It is my desire to contribute to the well-being of this city in its continued growth, development and prosperity. I want Chelsea to continue to be one of the finest communities in which to live. I am retired and able to devote time to serving our community well.”

Isbell has no prior political experience. He has previously worked at the Shelby Baptist Association and was self-employed in the graphics industry. Although he does not have set campaign issues at this time, Isbell said he hopes to work out some of the city’s issues and try to improve them.

Isbell is a member of Liberty Baptist Church and lives off of Highway 39, close to old downtown Chelsea.

He has no campaign website or Facebook page at this time.

Incumbent Chelsea City Council member David Ingram is also running for to Place 3. The election for Chelsea mayor and five city council seats is scheduled for Aug. 23.
