Road reopens after pedestrian-involved motor vehicle accident

On the morning of Wednesday, April 1 at 3:30 a.m., an on-duty Shelby county Sheriff's Deputy was involved in a motor vehicle accident in which a pedestrian was struck in the area of Shelby County Road 70 near the Waterford subdivision. The pedestrian is reported to be in stable condition and was transported from the scene to UAB Hospital. 

Sheriff Samaniego requested that State Troopers from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency investigate the traffic accident and both lanes of travel on County Road 70 were closed. 

The roads reopened at 7:50 a.m.
