Shelby County redesigns license site

The newly designed Shelby County License Office website should simplify the car and boat tag renewal process for residents.

At the Aug. 11 county commission meeting, Shelby County chief operating officer Phil Burns announced the website’s redesign and several added features. County residents can now use Shelby Chat to receive live help from home, and a “What do I need to bring?” link lists the necessary documents for registering vehicles and boats. The site also includes printable checklists for required documents.

A new “Tell us how we are doing” option allows residents to submit anonymous comments about the county’s service. Burns said the site will probably add more features to continue providing better customer service for Shelby County residents.
