Shelby County Sheriff's Office investigators are asking for the public's help in identifying a person of interest. The investigation is ongoing, and Deputy Debbie Sumrall said the sheriff's office cannot release more information about the crime at this time.

The sheriff's office released two photos of the suspect on Thursday, June 2. Sumrall said the suspect was known to have frequented the Inverness area, near Valleydale Road and U.S. 280, but his current whereabouts are unknown. Anyone who recognizes or has information on the suspect is asked to contact the secret witness line at 669-9116, leave information on the sheriff's office website or call Investigator Robert Rodriguez at 670-6171.

"Any information will remain confidential, and you will never be asked to testify at a trial or identify yourself," said a post on the Shelby County Sheriff's Office Facebook page.
