Deputies recover stolen military Humvee

The Shelby County Sheriff's deputies reclaimed a Humvee that was stolen from the Army Reserve station on Greensprings Highway Jan. 16. 

After receiving reports of the Humvee traveling on the wrong side of the road without its headlights on, deputies initiated a traffic stop near County Road 11 and 36. Further investigation determined that the vehicle had been stolen. 

Jacob Russell Durant, a 19-year-old from Alabaster, was arrested on a charge of receiving stolen property. He is being held in the Shelby County Jail with a bond of $10,000.  

The Birmingham Police Department is continuing to investigate the theft of the military vehicle.
