Places to Taste Shelby County

Due to COVID-19, the in person annual Taste of Shelby County fundraiser event had to be canceled. However, a new virtual format was developed to allow people to purchase tickets online and visit participating restaurants, while raising money for the Shelby County Schools Education Foundation.

Places to Taste: Taste of Shelby County golden tickets can be purchased online for $25, and allow for discounts at Shelby County restaurants, with offers of $5 off, 20% off or a special offer from the restaurant.

“The event is usually at capacity at the Inverness Country Club,” said Kendall Williams, Community Relations Director for the Shelby County Schools Education Foundation. “The original date was pushed to February, and we will probably still have the auction online in February, and best case scenario, have the event in February.”

Participating restaurants and businesses so far include: Ashley Mac’s, Cat-n-Bird Winery, Eat at Panoptic, Baba Java Coffee, Refined to Go, Corbin Farms Winery, Taziki’s, Cajun Boys & Our Po’Boys, Taco Mama, The Anvil Pub & Grill, Bellini’s, Bertolone’s and Simply Infused Olive Oil Shop. More are expected to be added.

From October 15-31, supporters who purchase a Taste of Shelby County Golden Ticket will be able to visit local Shelby County establishments and take advantage of the restaurants' discounts and offers.

“Even though we cannot meet in person this year, we can still support our schools, support local businesses and get great deals on delicious local food and beverages,” Williams said.

Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased at tasteofshelbycounty.com. Donations are also accepted.
