Shelby County deputies arrested three suspects on initial charges of receiving stolen property Feb. 9.

Patrol deputies observed a suspicious vehicle leaving a business park area along U.S. 280 near the Shelby and Jefferson county line. Deputies initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle for a moving violation.

During initial contact with the driver and two passengers, deputies observed a large collection of United States mail, some of which contained business checks. After further investigation, multiple pieces of mail were from local businesses along 280.

Sheriff’s investigators' and U.S. Postal inspectors' findings resulted in the arrests of 31-year-old Nikkia Nichole Huff, 26-year-old Daniel Verick Reed and 23-year-old Jemarcus Demetrius Acholes on five charges of identity theft and one of receiving stolen property.

All three suspects are being held in the Shelby County Jail, each with a $50,000 bond.
