Authorities have identified the man killed in last night's wreck on Alabama 119.

Shelby County Coroner Diana New said the victim was identified as 32-year-old Hoover resident Andrew Carroll.

Hoover police and fire departments responded to the incident at 6:28 p.m. Shelby County deputies also assisted.

Carroll was declared dead on scene after the 2014 Triumph Scrambler motorcycle he was driving collided with a 2002 Lexus sport-utility vehicle. The wreck was at the intersection of Alabama 119 and Brook Highland Parkway, Hoover police Capt. Gregg Rector said in a press release.

A 17-year-old and 5-year-old were also injured in the collision. The 17-year-old driver of the Lexus was treated on scene by Hoover Fire Department Paramedics. The 5-year-old boy, Carroll's son and passenger on the motorcycle, was transported to Children's Hospital, Rector said. The boy remains at Children's Hospital in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police traffic investigators are working to determine the cause of the wreck, Rector said.
