Victim of fatal car wreck identified as Shelby County man

Authorities have identified the individual who died in a four-vehicle wreck on Monday.

The victim was identified as Shelby County resident Michael Francis Xavier Lee, 34, according to a release from the Shelby County Sheriff's Office. Multiple occupants were injured in the wreck, which occurred on Valleydale Road on July 31, around 3 p.m.

Shelby County Sheriff's deputies responded to the scene, and Alabama State troopers, Hoover Police officers and North Shelby Fire Department personnel assisted with the accident.

The wreck is under investigation by the Shelby County traffic homicide investigation unit, and "a final report may take some time to complete," according to the release.
