This year’s “Walk Me Home…To the Place Where I Belong” 5K will be held at Veterans Park off Valleydale Road, on April 26 from 8 a.m.-noon. This event is held to benefit and raise awareness for foster care in the greater Birmingham area.

Registration, $30, will be 7-8 a.m., and the run will begin at 8 a.m. Proceeds go to foster parents. Last year’s participants received T-shirts, rubber bracelets inscribed with “Walk Me Home,” lapel foster pins and a blue ribbon to decorate the magnolia trees.
