Work session to follow Shelby County Commission meeting

The Shelby County Commission will hold a work session for budget discussion following its Sept. 14 meeting. The budget will be for the next fiscal year, which kicks off on Oct. 1.

At its Aug. 25 meeting, the commission head budget proposals from Shelby County Sheriff John Samaniego and County Coroner Diana New. Samaniego submitted a full budget, and New requested a new vehicle.

The work session following the Sept. 14 meeting could last a few hours.

During the meeting, the commission will also consider bids for waters services and an inmate communication system for the Sheriff’s Office. A resolution for a merger between Charter Communications and Bright House Networks will also be considered.

The meeting is Monday at 8 a.m. at the Shelby County Administration Building in Columbiana. The full agenda can be found online.
