$10 prom dresses to benefit YWCA

On March 9, Renaissance Consignment and Marketplace is sponsoring 103.7 The Q and Ace & TJ’s 2013 Gown Town.

The all-day event resells donated prom dresses for $10.37 and donates all proceeds to My Sister's Closet, a part of the YWCA. Doors open at 10 a.m., and a line is expected to form before then. In previous years, the line has started as early as 6 a.m.

Prior to the event, any gently used formal dresses can be donated at Renaissance’s store on Cahaba Valley Road or at 103.7 The Q. Any unsold dresses will be donated to My Sister’s Closet so those that cannot afford a dress will not miss out on an experience many take for granted.

The event will be professionally photographed by Alanna Rose, owner of Alanna Rose Photography.

Hair Demonstrations will be provided on site by Tammy Howell of Brides & Belles Hair Design.

Makeup Demonstration will be provided on site by Jackie Robinson of Rawwbeauty Makeup.

Special Tanning Discounts and Giveaways will be provided by Elite Tan, represented by Vicki Taylor.

Live skin care education and demonstrations will be provided by Marsia McDaniel of Capelli Salon on Hwy 280.

The event will also feature a 2013 Prom Fashion Trends Fashion Show featuring lovely models from the Barbizon School of Modeling & Acting as well as Tuxedo models. At the event, Renaissance can measure and order tuxedos. Buy a dress and they can match your date in a tux from Jim's Formals.

Staff from 103.7 The Q will be on site, as well as representatives from My Sister's Closet. Gown Town will be a day full of unbeatable deals, unbelievable giveaways and unmatched excitement.
