St. Catherine’s Episcopal Church will be hosting its second annual Turkey Trot for Hunger Saturday, Nov. 10, to raise money for the church’s Beans and Rice Pantry, as well as other outreach ministries it performs throughout the Chelsea community.

The pantry serves about 30 families each month, giving each two grocery bags filled with non-perishable food items, along with 3 pounds of rice and 2 pounds of beans. The church also gives out household items such as toothbrushes and toothpaste.

St. Catherine’s welcomes anyone wanting to see how its outreach program works to come by when it is giving out donations on the third Saturday of each month, starting at 9 a.m.

The chip-timed 5K run/walk and 1-mile fun run will be at the church, with races beginning at 8:30 a.m.

Those interested in participating can register online by visiting the church’s race website, runsignup.com/race/al/chelsea/stcatherinesturkeytrot

All participants will receive a gift bag, T-shirt and racing bib.

For the 5K run/walk, there is a $25 race fee and $2.50 sign-up fee, with the run/walk beginning at 8:30 a.m. and ending at 10:30 a.m. For the 1-mile fun run, there is a $15 race fee and $2.50 sign-up fee, with the fun run starting and ending at the same times as the 5K run/walk.
