Fire on the Water 

July 3, all day

Oak Mountain State Park

200 Terrace Drive, Pelham

Join Oak Mountain State Park for food and fireworks in the forest. The park will operate during its normal hours. Food vendors will be on site and alcohol also will be available for purchase. 

Activities will last all day, concluding with fireworks at 9 p.m., sponsored by the city of Pelham. 

Normal gate prices will be in effect until the evening, when the price will switch to $10 per carload.

The park gates will close at 8 p.m. Attendees can watch the fireworks show, which will be fired from the dam, at 9 p.m. from the Day Use area.

The Big KABOOM!

July 3 at 8 p.m. 

Chelsea Park

This will be the 10th year for this event as Chelsea celebrates Independence Day. 

The main stage will be in the park on Parkmont Way in the Chelsea Park subdivision. Festivities and entertainment will begin at 8 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by patriotic songs sung by talent from the Chelsea area. 

Vendors will include Johnny Ray’s BBQ and Ground Up Coffee and Smoothies. 

Local businesses will set up tents and tables around the perimeter of the park, many with give-aways for children.  

Bring lawn chairs and blankets and watch the fireworks at 9 p.m. fired from the water tower in Chelsea Park. 

Greystone Celebration of America

July 4, 9 a.m. to dusk for members, 5 p.m. to dusk for residents

Greystone Golf & Country Club invites Greystone members and residents to the Celebration of America. The event will take place at the Founders Clubhouse.  

Events will include a children’s Radio Flyer parade (5 p.m.), kid’s carnival (5 to 7 p.m.), outdoor concert (5 to 8 p.m.) and a fireworks show at dusk.  Admission is free to enjoy clubhouse access and an extensive holiday buffet, but a wristband is required.  

Greystone residents who purchase a wristband will have access to the main level of the clubhouse, and Greystone members with a wristband will have access to Cellar 91 and its adjoining patio. Residents and members can reserve a table by contacting 986-5120.   

There will be a pre-sale for wristbands.  Cost is $25 for adults and $15 for children ages 5-12 and can be purchased by member charge or check at the Founders Clubhouse.

Greystone members will have access to several additional events throughout the day including a flag day golf tournament, pool party, pool cookout and much more.

American Village Independence Day Celebration

July 4 at noon

Enjoy a red, white and blue family-friendly celebration while taking a step back in time with American Village as it celebrates America’s birthday. 

The event will include food, fun and fireworks along with other events, featuring a reenactment of Patrick Henry’s famous “Give Me Liberty or Give Me Death” speech, a Colonial Independence Ball at 4:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. and children’s activities. The event will conclude with fireworks in the evening.

Admission is $5 and is free to veterans, active military members and children younger than 4.
