The Spain Park Beauty Walk, held Feb. 1, provided student contestants an opportunity to show off their connections both to the community and the outside world.

Before senior participants came together on stage, they were asked the question, “What is your greatest concern for your generation?”

During the event, contestants were required to respond to other societal questions from the list below. How would you answer some of these questions?

• With the threat of terrorism at the Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, should Americans attend the games? Why or why not?

• Should women serving on the front lines of the military be expected to meet the same physical strength requirements as men?

• What do you hope future generations admire about your generation?

• If you had an hour to sit down and talk with Governor Bentley, what would you discuss with him?

• If your life were a novel, what would the title be? Explain.

• What makes Alabama a great place to live?

• If you could make one change to Spain Park High School, what would it be?

• Do you believe social media has more of a positive or a negative impact on society?

• What makes a modern-day hero?

• Alabama ranks as the fifth most obese state in the nation. Given the many health issues that result from obesity, what ideas do you have to make our state healthier?

• How would you define Southern Hospitality?
