Adwell becomes third-generation Eagle Scout

by

Daniel Adwell of Shelby County has achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. He is the 16th member of his immediate family in three generations to receive this honor.

His father, Steve Adwell; his grandfather, Terry Eskew; and his uncle, Michael Eskew, are among his family members to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout.

He also has an uncle and 11 cousins who are Eagle Scouts. Boy Scouts has been very important to this family, as Daniel Adwell mentioned in his speech at his Eagle Court of Honor in June. He is an active member of Troop 5 at Christ Church on Caldwell Mill Road. Daniel Adwell achieved this rank after completing his Eagle Project, making and installing cubbies for two preschool classrooms at Meadow Brook Baptist Preschool. Daniel is a member of Meadow Brook Baptist Church and wanted his project to benefit the church and preschool there.

Daniel Adwell is currently a senior at Oak Mountain High School, where he plays trombone in the Spirit of Cahaba Marching Band. He is an honor student, a member of the Math Team, Latin Club, National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, and the Apologetics Club.

He plans to attend Auburn University next fall to study software engineering. He went to Sea Base, a high-adventure Scout trip, in Saint Thomas this summer, where he and other scouts sailed, swam and snorkeled for a week.
