The second annual Chelsea Fest and Big Kaboom threatened to be a rainy repeat of the first, but the weather stayed dry for crowds to enjoy an evening of Independence Day festivities.

Hundreds gathered for Big Kaboom on June 30, which ran from 5 to roughly 9:30 p.m. The evening festival included games, food vendors, children's activities, a bicycle parade and a variety of musical performers, including headliners Compozitionz.

Families gathered on blankets and lawn chairs in the field behind Chelsea's Dairy Queen in order to watch a fireworks show put together by Pyro Shows of Alabama.
