The Chelsea Historical Society is continuing its mission to enhance, preserve and share the city's history.

The historical society's next event will be part two of a "A Walking Tour of Chelsea History," on Sept. 24. The first part of the tour was at Old Quinn Cemetery, and the second part will be at Mount Calvary Church at 3 p.m. The church's current building is on the Alabama Historic Registry and was built in the early 1900s, said Chelsea Historical Society chairman Tony Nivens.

Mount Calvary Church is located on County Road 74 near the intersection with County Road 39 South.

The historical society will also host its second meeting on Oct. 22 from 3-4:30 p.m. at the Chelsea Community Center. The historical society hosts quarterly meetings.
