PreSchool Partners will host its sixth Annual Food Truck Round Up & Art Show at The Summit May 6 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The goal of the community-wide event is to raise money for the children and parent programs at PreSchool Partners, whose mission is to prepare 3- and 4-year-olds for kindergarten and success in school. Targeting neighborhoods around Woodlawn and North Birmingham, it also offers a parent program as part of its curriculum in which a parent spends one morning a week at school with a child.

“This is a great event for foodies and families,” said Molly Parkhurst, director of development for PreSchool Partners. “There will also be live music, local artists and kid-friendly entertainment.”

This will be the second year the event will be hosted at The Summit, with Protective Life as the title sponsor. During the event, local food trucks will be in front of Swoozie’s, offering samples of their menus. Options will include Bendy’s Cookies & Cream, Big Spoon Creamery, Cantina on Wheels, Dreamland BBQ, Eugene’s Hot Chicken, Greg’s Hotdogs, Lazy Boy BBQ, Melt Food Truck, Naughty But Nice Kettle Corn Co., Nothing Bundt Cakes, Off the Hook, Recippi’s Italian Ice & Gelato, Shindigs and Steel City Pops.

“Our program is 22 years old, and over the last five years, this event has raised over $300,000.” Parkhurst said. “It’s our biggest event every year.”

The entry fee is $10; children 10 and under are $5, and children 2 and under are free. The fee includes access to all vendors, kids zone, art show and free Coca-Cola products. Each food truck will have their own food prices, most in the $2-$4 range.

Tickets are available online and can also be purchased at the event. Go to preschool-partners.org/events for information.
